Geet Sagar emerged winner of Sony’s popular show X-Factor. The winner is reportedly quite elated on winning a chance to sing for Karan Johar.
The show, which has become one of the most popular talent shows, brought a wide range of talented artists in the limelight.
Judged by popular B-town personalities namely, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the finale was expected to be very tough. Geet, who emerged victorious, was obviously overjoyed.
Excited to sing for Karan Johar
As the winner, the 27-year-old won Rs. 50 lakh, a Tata Manza, and also an opportunity to sing a song in a Karan Johar film.
Geet was most excited about singing for K.Jo’s film. “I am really looking forward to singing for Karan Johar. It’s exciting because people work so hard to get a chance to sing for his film, and I feel blessed I have got an opportunity so early,” said the winner.
Many viewers including judge Sonu Nigam, were rooting for Seema Jha, but Geet performed exceptionally well on the day of the finale and emerged winner.
Geet, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, comes from an army background. Before being selected for X-Factor, he worked as a Radio Jockey for Lemon 91.1 FM.
Geet gives credit to Shreya and the show
Geet gave his mentor, Shreya, credit for his victory. “…I could come so far only because of her,” said the overjoyed winner.
He also gave credit to the show for making him the singer that he is today. “When I came, I knew nothing about it (music) but I learned a lot from this platform,” expressed Geet.
