London: Fans of superstar Rajnikanth may have been excited to hear that the their Thalaivar was feeling fighting fit once again, but it looks like they may have to be patient for a while longer as doctors have now advised the actor to not to resume shooting for Rana for the time being.
A couple of days ago, Rajnikanth had delighted his fans by stating he was completely cured and fit.
After his ‘glaring’ cameo as Chitti in RA.One, Rajnikanth has not been given a clean chit of health.
As a result, Rana, which was supposed to hit the floors by the year-end has now been postponed to February 2012. And inspite of his enthusiasm to return to work, the superstar admits that since the film has grand action and costume drama sequences, it will exert “too much of a physical strain” on him.
Director of Rana, KS Ravikumar is said to be in complete agreement with the superstar.
“I met Rajni sir around 10 days ago. He is feeling good now but doctors have asked him to wait for some time before starting the shoot. He will be required to do some heavy-duty stunts like flying, riding horses and sword fighting, which will put a lot of strain on him. That’s why doctors don’t want him to start shooting immediately,” he said.
While the film certainly hasn’t been shelved, the director has not cleared any dates for the shooting to resume even as it is being said that the film may now go on floors only by February 2012.
Rana’s female lead Deepika Padukone has also been kept in the loop about the developments.
Here’s hoping that the boss is soon back to feeling a 100 per cent, which of course is 200 per cent better than mere mortals.
