Los Angeles: Actor Rhys Ifans was arrested after he pushed a female security gaurd during the Comic Con event in San Diego. He was later released.
The actor, who plays villain Dr. Curt Connors in The Amazing Spider-Man, attracted trouble after he shoved off a female security guard after one of his team members was not allowed inside the hall where the event was taking place.
According to The Wrap, the actor, who turned 44 the same day, was believed to be drunk. He was the part of a discussion panel with co-stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, reports usmagazine.com.
“He was aggressive and belligerent. He was berating everyone from the security staff to the United States of America. He was cited and released, which is a non-custodial misdemeanor arrest,” said Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police Department.
A spokesperson said that Ifans “deeply regrets the incident.”
