Calcutta, May 14, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) After conquering Indian cinema lovers across the world with his remarkable award-winning debut Bengali feature film “Autograph” (2010), film-maker Srijit Mukherji (interview) is now working on his second film “Baishe Shrabon” expected to release in the 3rd quarter of 2011.
According to the information posted by Venkatesh Films on their facebook page, one of the highlights of the film is going to be experiencing the great film-maker Goutam Ghosh (interview) playing a role in the film as an actor after twenty-nine long years!
Along with Gautam Ghosh, Baishe Srabon has a star cast of Prosenjit Chatterjee (interview), Parambrata Chattopadhyay (interview), Raima Sen, Abir Chatterjee (interview) and others.
The movie features songs written and composed by Anupam Roy (interview) and background score by Indradeep Dasgupta. The film songs are performed by playback singers Rupam Islam, Anupam Roy, Srikanto Acharya, Raghav Chatterjee (interview), Saptarshi Mukherjee, Anindya Chatterjee and Shreya Ghoshal.
The film is said to be “Musical Thriller” which by itself is pretty tantalizing. As SVF point out, much of Srijit’s crew from Autograph will be retained for his 2nd film: Soumik Haldar as cinematographer, Bodhaditya Banerjee as editor, Sohag Sen as acting workshop consultant, Soumyabrata Rakshit as chief assistant director and Ananda Adhya as the art director. Saborni Das is production and costume designer.
Having upped the bar of contemporary Bengali cinema himself,
expectations run high of Srijit – here is wishing the
writer-actor-director spectacular success for his 2nd film.
