Tamil film selected for Toronto festival

Chennai:  The Tamil movie Azhagarsamyin
Kuthirai
has been selected to be screened at the 36th Toronto
International Film Festival being held in September 2011.

According to a press release, it is the only film from South India to be selected at
the festival in the Contemporary World Cinema category.

“This is a prestigious segment where the best of world
cinema is selected and compete with one another,” it said.

The Tamil film is based on a story penned by writer
Bhaskar Sakthi.

Directed by Suseenthiran, the film’s music has been
scored by Illayaraja. The films stars Appukutty and Saranya
Mohan.
