Agneepath Music Review

Mumbai, Dec 20 (TruthDive): Agneepath, is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1990 cult movie. Original version has also the same name and was produced by Yash Johar. Yash Johar’s son Karan Johar is remaking the new version.

Ajay and Atul Gogvale of Singham fame are the music directors of this awaited movie. Sony Music has acquired the music rights. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, Karan Malhotra has directed film ‘Agneepath’.

Agneepath’s soundtrack is made up of 6 tracks, no remixes and features the vocal talents of Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghosal, Roop Kumar Rathod (Tujh Mein Rab Dikta Hai – Rab Ne Bana De Jodi), Sonu Nigam, Sukwinder Singh, Anand Raj Anand and Udit Narayan.

Chikni Chameli

The song Chikni Chameli has already become popular because of Ajay-Atul for their energetic Marathi musical arrangements, Katrina Kaif’s dance and Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod and Shreya Ghoshal’s voices. Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics are also a big portion of Chikni Chameli’s appeal.

O Saiyyan

Roop Kumar Rathod brings Bhattacharya’s romantic poetry to life in a glorious fashion while Ajay-Atul’s choice to feature minimal music beautifully showcases the extents of Rathod’s vocal talents.

Gun gun guna re

Sunidhi Chauhan has accompanied Udit Narayan. This one actually is more of a lyrics based song. Bhattacharya’s lyrics are sweet and hopeful and on a mission to cheer-up the sombre and are more or less effective. The music is not something thrilling, but will nonetheless find a place in due time.

Shah ka Rutba

Sung by Sukwinder Singh, Anand Raj Anand and Krishna Beura, is a little Arabic/Turkish from the very beginning and the lyrics are in the same flavour, with a lot of Urdu-Persian words, but the base tune of the song is nice and with all the beats thrown in, it can turn quite addictive in its own time. Shah Ka Rutba is definitely the sleeper hit of Agneepath.

Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin

This song is vocally potent with minimal music, is sung to perfection by Sonu Nigam. Nigam who was once synonymous with 90 percent of Bollywood’s soundtracks rarely graces us with his presence nowadays. If by chance he does, then the songs are either mediocre.

Deva Shree Ganesha

The end of the album comes in a very Ajay-Atul style as Ajay sings a Deva Shree Ganesha that makes a perfect number for Ganpati. Deva Shree Ganesha is undoubtedly the best song of the album. Phenomenally sung it is unlike other devotional songs with a very-fast pace.
