MUMBAI: Pooja Bhatt’s much-hyped movie Jism2 has once again run into controversy revolving around its track ‘Abhi Abhi’.
The song rendered by Akriti Kakkar has been wrongly credited to Shreya Ghoshal in the Jism2 CD.
The track has been recorded in two versions by Kakkar and Ghoshal respectively. The goof up took place while compiling the album which resulted into wrong authorization.
Clearing the controversy with Radioandmusic.com, Kakkar said, “I was wrongly quoted by an publication that I was fumed on the goof up. I would just like to clear out that I don’t want to blame anyone; it’s a confusion which generally tends to take place while compiling an album. There are two versions of the song ‘Abhi Abhi,’ one sung by me while other by Shreya, and my version has gone under Shreya’s name by mistake.”
The singer is however glad that her fans recognized her voice and took the liberty to inform her about it. “Infact, I have taken this goof up as a compliment because I am glad to know that my fans have recognized my voice, which is the best compliment an artiste could ever get. I have also been praised stating that my voice resembles Shreya Ghosal’s vocals. We are best friends so I have no reason to get annoyed with or blame anyone.”
Bhatt has owned up to the misprint and stated that Akriti’s version has wrongly been credited and the next batch of CDs will consist of Ghosal’s voice as mentioned. Sequel to the 2003 film, Jism 2 is set to release on 3 August 2012 and features Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone, with Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda.
The film had to face a hiccup earlier too when the censor board blocked the release of its song promo on television, following which the makers opted for a digital release.
