Brazilian director dies at IFFI

Panaji:  In a tragic incident, Brazilian documentary film director Oscar Marron Filho suffered a cardiac arrest during an interactive session Sunday afternoon and subsequently died at a local hospital.

Filho, 56, whose film Mario Filho: A Creator of Crowds based on famed Brazilian journalist and writer Mario Filho was screened as part of a special package on soccer films, was speaking during ‘Open Forum’, an interactive session with delegates when he suddenly suffered from a heart attack.

After a few minutes of chaos, an ailing Filho was rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital located some distance from Panaji, where he died.
