London: Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf says he struggled to bond with his co-star Tom Hardy on the sets of their upcoming film The Wettest County in the World.
LaBeouf, 25, who shares the screen with the Inception star, admits that while shooting for their depression-era crime drama, a joke led to a backstage brawl, reported Daily Star online.
LaBeouf claims the tussle was a one-off and Hardy “never did that roughhouse stuff with again.”
The other issues that hampered their bonding was Hardy and fellow colleague Jason Clarke’s habit of boasting about their expensive sports cars.
The ‘Transformers’ star, who frequently banks 9.4 million pound pay cheques for his roles in box office blockbusters, insists he has “no interest” in spending his money on expensive toys and gadgets and claims he feels “real shame” over his growing wealth.
“At this point I have enough money to live 25 lifetimes. You couldn’t spend the money I’ve accrued now. (But) I have no interest in the materialistic things money can buy.
“They’re talking about Ferraris and all, like it’s a cool car. If Clarke pulled up in a Ferrari right now, my idea wouldn’t be, ‘What a cool guy!’ It would be, ‘Look at this clown.’ I think the fact that I despise that stuff keeps me safe. I hang on to my dirt. I like my dirt,” said LaBeouf.
