How can someone write a book like this? It’s wrong. It scares you to believe that brides are killed by their grooms. Compare that to saying everyone in America is a serial killer. My indian friends found it completely irrelevant. The maps are even wildly incorrect. Taj Majal is not in the middle of the country! It’s like putting texas in new york. I even found inconsistencies in the editing process. The glossary and definitions defined within the text did not agree. I better be able to return this, but I can’t undo the damage it’s done to me. worst book ever.

I bet the whole series sucks. I expected something like lonely planet, this again is irrelevant, strange ideas by someone who is a lunatic. insase.

The book arrived promptly but then I left on vacation so I will try and remember what I can. The book was in great shape, and as I said it came fast before I left on vacation which was great. I have not read it yet but it will be a good summer read, and the price was right. Thank you…

This was a disappointment for me. Most of it was very general, common sense material – not what I was looking for and a waste of my time and money. I’ve never been to India, and I felt like I am no more prepared after reading this than I was before.

I found this book to have a few good tips, but most of it was just common sense that the avid traveller already should know. It really wasn’t what I expected and was rather disappointed with it.

  5. Has some great info on traveling solo in India… no specifics regarding trip planning (i.e. about certain locations or regions in India), more general information. Some info on locations of India and how to travel those regions and what to watch out for would have been helpful.
